Level 1-Foundational Fluency

This is the Foundational level 1 Spanish Class that takes the absolute beginner to basic fluency in 8 weeks because of the unique way this class is taught. It is fully immersive and it covers all 4 corners of communication: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The grammar is weaved in naturally with relevant conversation, story-based learning techniques that utilize the highest frequency words and phrases first which are the glue that holds sentences together. With this fun interactive story-based approach, students will achieve a basic level of fluency in 2 months instead of 2 years, which is how long it normally takes with traditional drill based learning. This program is designed to ensure that students naturally are able to hit proficiency targets each week that correspond with the weekly learning objectives. Students are given access to a library of audio-digital readings that they can choose to read on their own time. Because they are so fun and engaging, students typically choose these options! The teacher monitors student progress on weekly assignments and is able to ensure that students are advancing in the class. The teacher reaches out to parents often reporting positive comments as well as areas for improvement. At the end of the class, students will receive world language credit for Spanish 1 which is required for graduation or college entry. A certificate of completion and a grade will also be issued at the end of the program.
